MGS Ltd, a UK based manufacturer and installer of Door and Entrance systems, are delighted to announce their product, Reception Shield, a protective screen system that facilitates social distancing, has been nominated for the Tomorrow’s Facilities Management Awards 2021.

In it’s tenth year, the Tomorrow’s Facilities Management Awards recognises the most innovative and stand out products and services that have had the biggest impact for the Facilities Management Industry during 2020 - a year of unprecedented and accelerated change that has forced FM and workplace professionals to think on their feet and react to building management measures that were regularly changing.

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, MGS assisted customers as they sought to rapidly adapt their buildings to enable social distancing and reduce the risk of cross-contamination in the workplace.

As entrances and public welcome areas prepared, some customers requested an aesthetic, non-intrusive solution for reception desk screens, to provide a clear barrier between customers, staff and colleagues without causing any damage to the desk or counter.

As Door and Entrance specialists uniquely aligned to support FM, M&E contractors and Building owners, MGS understood these environments, and were able to work to the short timescales required with Reception Shield, a highly aesthetic and non-intrusive protective screen system that can be easily fitted where fixing and drilling is not possible or appropriate.

The unique design of the Reception Shield allows the screen barrier to be safely fitted and removed at a later date, without damage to the desk or welcome counter.  - a key attribute recognised by the judges.

This was particularly important for prestigious commercial and hospitality environments where maintaining high-quality building aesthetics and a superior welcoming experience for visitors was important, whilst meeting the requirements for reduced physical contact contamination and social distancing in the workplace.

Jason Pease, Managing Director at MGS said, “I am honoured that MGS has been shortlisted for The Tomorrow’s FM Awards with Reception Shield being recognised as one of the most innovative and exciting new products of 2020.  As a manufacturer and service provider supporting FM professionals and building owners, I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the whole MGS team, who throughout 2020 have demonstrated their creativity and dedication to overcome these type of challenges, continuing to fully assist our clients, whatever the circumstances”.

Nominations are now open for the product or service that will be voted overall winner, chosen by the FM industry and Tomorrow’s Facilities Management readers. You can place your nomination here.

MGS wishes all the finalists the best of luck!
